Artist Statement

Welcome to my homepage. I am primarily a stained glass and fused glass artist. I enjoy creating pieces that are 3-D, colorful, whimisical, and non-traditional; producing peices that are of contemporary design and color. I like designing pieces that are almost scultpure like in nature using items such as: copper tubing, light-weight antiques, old costume and antique jewelry, and rocks just to name a few. I like creating pieces that are abstract and non-symmetrical. Many of my pieces tell a story. I have several themes that have become popular that I like using. I usually do not get the urge or have the need to touch traditional 2-D stained glass windows. However; I often have costumers and friends who ask to touch my pieces. I first realized I wanted to create these kinds of pieces when I created "The Jewelry Wall" because people were so enticed into running their hands lightly over all of the jewelry. This holds true for many of my pieces. I am currently working on a series of pieces using old pictures and memtoes in the design. This design easily incorporates customers' belongings that were once tucked away hidden, but now can be enjoyed in a piece of art. Thanks so much for taking the time out to visit my site. Please check back periodically since I am always adding new peices with interesting twists. Peace, Brian
